DNK for Kids
The first meters of cycling fun for all young cyclists.
Whether you’ve just started riding without training wheels or are already secretly dreaming of sprinting up Nokereberg, our Cycling Initiation is all about having fun on two wheels. Your legs are tingling, the bikes are ready. Time to let go of those race jitters and kick off the tenth edition together with the Flemish Cycling School, Team Never Give Up by Jolien Verschueren, and the local family associations.

For whom?
- For the youngest participants (ages 2 to 6), there is once again the legendary DNK Balance Bikes – the unofficial “World Cup” for young daredevils. Your (balance) bike and helmet are your trump cards. The start will be given at the Kruishoutem sports hall. The exact time is not yet known, but be sure to keep an eye on this page. Afterwards, you can test your legs together with mom or dad on the agility course of the Flemish Cycling School.
- For young cycling heroes (ages 7 to 12): Under the guidance of the Flemish Cycling School and Team Never Give Up, they hone their technique on a challenging obstacle course and cyclocross track. And of course, a lap on the iconic Danilith Nokere Koerse track is also part of the program. Bring your MTB and helmet, and get ready to race!
- Riders with a competition license (aged 8 and above) will be treated to a challenging ride with several passages over the dreaded Nokereberg. The start is at the Kruishoutem sports hall. Ideal for kicking off the road season in style. The exact time is not yet known, but be sure to keep an eye on this page.
After the effort comes the reward: a souvenir and a smile that will stay with you long after the finish line. Everything is free and guaranteed. All you need to bring is your bike and your enthusiasm for cycling.
No bike? No problem. The sports department provides free MTBs and balance bikes. You can reserve one when you register.
