WOENSDAG 17 MAART 2021

Parcours MJ

The race between the start in Deinze and the finish line in Nokere covers a total of 134 kilometers. After the start, the riders will pass through Petegem-aan-de-Leie to Kruishoutem, Lozer, and Ouwegem for the first ascent of the Lange Ast. The route then continues through Huise, Lede, Wannegem, Ooike, Oudenaarde, Elsegem, and Kerkhove to the cobblestones of the Varent and the Hellestraat-Holstraat combo. Shortly after, the riders will climb the Petegemberg (500m at 7.6%) and the Fabriekstraat. From Wortegem, the course heads to the first passage in Nokere. At this point, 64.9 km have been completed, leaving the riders with two local laps.

The first local lap, measuring 31.3 km, begins with the cobblestones of Herlegemstraat as a warm-up. A longer flat section follows, passing through Kruishoutem, Lozer, Ouwegem, and Huise. From Huise, the cobbled sections come in quick succession. The Lange Aststraat climbs 400 meters at 5.2%, followed by the Kloosterstraat, the cobblestones of the Doorn, Lededorp, Huisepontweg, and Wannegem-Dorp. The lap concludes with a final passage over the cobblestones of Nokereberg.

The final local lap is 37.8 km long and is largely the same as the previous lap. However, after the cobblestones of Wannegem-Dorp, the riders will turn right toward Kruishoutem’s center. From the Markt, the course heads in the opposite direction of earlier passages along Waregemsesteenweg to the cobblestones of Herlegemstraat. At the end of this cobbled section, the riders will be less than 3 km from the finish.

The new final kilometer features an uphill stretch with an average gradient of 4%.
