Danilith Nokere Koerse unites tradition and innovation. We were the first to equalize prize money for men and women, and now we’re the first to adjust the finish line for safety. At the same time, we cherish our tradition, for example with the publication of the book about 80 years of racing in Nokere. The book cover, a drawing by illustrator and artist Xavier Truant, is also the poster for 2025.
The drawing summarizes what Danilith Nokere Koerse stands for; a small village where volunteers have been organizing races for 80 years, with top riders, a good portion of cobblestones, large crowds, and great atmosphere as basic ingredients. This year, we are moving the finish from the cobblestones of Nokeredorp to the other side of Nokereberg, where a safe, sloping final straight kilometer is found. But we continue to maintain the unique atmosphere and traditions of Danilith Nokere Koerse.
The peloton will continue to ride over the cobblestones of Nokeredorp during the race; the women twice and the men three times. The cobbled climb of Nokeredorp will be more than ever the CAPS mountain this year. The male and female rider who scores the most points during the passages will win the CAPS mountain prize worth 1,500 euros.
On Wednesday, March 19, Danilith Nokere Koerse will search for successors to world champion Lotte Kopecky and European champion Tim Merlier. But Danilith Nokere Koerse starts earlier. The event has grown into a four-day cycling festival for young and old.
The festivities begin on Friday evening, March 14, ’25, with Départ Canard, our after-work party in the VIP tent.
Saturday, March 15, is the youth day of Danilith Nokere Koerse, featuring not only our international junior race, but also a cycling initiation ‘Danilith Nokere Koerse for kids’ for youngsters between 7 and 12 years old and a real World Championship balance bike racing for 2 to 6-year-olds.
That Saturday will also feature, for the first time, a Danilith Nokere Koerse for athletes with intellectual disabilities, as part of the ‘Nieuwsblad Cycling Series’ organized by Special Olympics Belgium. Danilith Nokere Koerse is a racing festival for everyone. This collaboration proves it once again!
Sunday, March 16, is time for cycling enthusiasts. They can showcase their skills during the Danilith Nokere Koerse Cyclo. Distances of 60, 95, or 130 km are provided.
The absolute highlight follows on Wednesday, March 19, with the two ProSeries races, starting in Deinze and finishing in Nokere. Expect a vibrant public village with a podium, giant screens, delicious food and drinks at affordable prices, and above all, lots of atmosphere and conviviality. New this year is that after the podium ceremony, there will also be performances, including one by Wim Soutaer! A great atmosphere is guaranteed!
This year, Danilith Nokere Koerse again offers something for everyone, with no less than 13 VIP packages, some of which, such as the new package at Hof van Cleve, are already sold out!
The book ‘The Mountain. The Village. The Race.’ by Edwin De Borggraeve and published by Bibliodroom has 296 pages with hundreds of unique photos.
