On Wednesday, Amy Pieters (NED – SD WORX) won Danilith Nokere Koerse. The Dutch rider remained ahead of fellow escapees Grace Brown and Lisa Klein in a sprint.

On Wednesday, Amy Pieters (NED – SD WORX) won Danilith Nokere Koerse. The Dutch rider remained ahead of fellow escapees Grace Brown and Lisa Klein in a sprint.

The second edition of this Belgian semi-classic for women resulted in a closed race. Due to the harsh weather conditions, the peloton stayed together for a considerable time. Karlijn Swinkels tried briefly in the first part of the race, but she never got any space.

As a result, the focus was on attacks from anticipating top riders in the final laps. The first attack immediately proved to be the right one. Brown went solo with forty kilometers to go. Within a few minutes, she could count on the support of Klein and Pieters.

The peloton broke into two parts behind Klein, Brown, and Pieters. This meant that the three riders at the front were not simply given space. The difference therefore continued to fluctuate around thirty seconds.

In the last lap, the chances for the leading trio seemed to dwindle: suddenly the gap was only twelve seconds. Then it went quiet again in the peloton. Klein, Brown, and Pieters extended their lead again and headed for the finish on the Nokereberg.

The Nokereberg would ultimately bring the decision. In a sprint, Pieters took the victory ahead of Brown and Klein. Lotte Kopecky won the sprint of the peloton a few seconds later.

Grace Brown won the Pur Natur mountain prize worth 1,500 euros.
